This is why is important to learn about Rabies:

Rabies is a very serious disease. It can make both people and animals very sick. Sadly, if an animal or person contracts rabies, they usually die. The good news is that human rabies can be prevented by following the recommendations I will share with you.

Did you know? Rabies is a disease that mostly affects children.

Almost half of the people who die from rabies are below 15 years old. This happens because children often play with dogs and might not know when a dog has rabies. We can help change this.

Once someone becomes sick with symptoms of rabies, there is no cure. But you can stop an infection before the person gets sick if you know what to do and act fast.

You can become a hero in your community and stop the spread of rabies if you know what to do and tell others about it 🌟

We can stop rabies if we all work together. I will give you the tools to play your role in making this happen.

School Leader in Action

To help stop rabies, you can:

  • Learn about rabies, how it spreads, and what to do if a dog with rabies bites, scratches, or licks you.
  • Learn how to be safe and kind when you are around dogs, what to do if you think a dog has rabies and the importance of vaccinating dogs against rabies.
  • Tell others about the dangers of rabies, what to do if you get bitten, scratched, or licked by a dog that could have rabies, and why it's important to vaccinate our dogs.
  • Tell friends, family and your community about the importance of vaccinating dogs against rabies to protect people from getting rabies.

Here, I will give you all the information and tools you need to be a hero. You can start by reading this content and then identifying some people with whom you will share it. The more people know about this, the higher the chances we all take action to prevent rabies.
